Dr. Joseph Alexander Brown of the Artificial Intelligence in Games Development Lab at Innopolis University examines the trends in academic thought about games. Looking at the design processes from conceptual design, looking at user demographics to target design platforms, how to scope a minimal viable product for testing, how to balance difficulty, and how to engage users and AI models of users in testing. Finally, the marketing aspects will be explored from the design aspects, including business models such as Free-to-Play games, mirco-purchases, and DLC.
Joseph Alexander Brown was born in Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON, Canada, on July 6, 1985. He received the B.Sc. (Hons.) with first class standing in computer science with a concentration in software engineering, and M.Sc. in computer science from Brock University, St. Catharines, ON, Canada in 2007 and 2009, respectively. He received the Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Guelph in 2014.
